Teens do not consider emails and messaging as writings

In US, a national phone survey of teens and their parents was conducted by the Pew Internet & American Life Project and the National Commission on Writing. It would be wrong to label teens as “cut and paste” generation. They take their writing seriously. They consider it as essential skill for success. But as the same time, they do not consider emails and instant messaging as writing.
